The new SkyTeam lounge set to open in Sydney Airport midway through this year has had its opening date pushed back to the end of the year.
"SkyTeam anticipates that the lounge will be open in October 2014 and we are looking forward to offering a greatly enhanced travel experience to passengers from the nine SkyTeam members serving the airport," SkyTeam spokesperson Katie Hulme said.
This lounge will be the first of its kind for first and business class travellers flying with Korean Air, China Southern, China Eastern, Vietnam Airlines and several other carriers. It is a highly anticipated addition to Sydney Airport's Gate 24.
Currently, these airlines pay other lounges to host their fliers, so the SkyTeam lounge will finally give passengers on business travel trips a place of their own to relax in, as well as saving the airlines around 10 per cent on current fees.
Guests can also look forward to a wine bar, buffet, a relaxing lounge and a separate television room.
The lounge is expected to open October of this year.
