New Sheraton Adelaide

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide will debut its Sheraton brand in Adelaide in mid 2019. The 160-room Sheraton Adelaide will be part of a 16-storey mixed-use development on O’Connell Street and feature a choice of dining venues, fitness centre, swimming pool and a range of meeting and event spaces.

REX expands WA network

Regional Express has won tenders for two new WA routes. The carrier will operate services between Perth and Albany and Perth and Esperance from 28 February 2016.

SQ reduces LHR-SYD layover

Singapore Airlines has adjusted the timing of its flights from London to Singapore to reduce layover time in Singapore to a one hour. Flight SQ305 from London Heathrow to Singapore and SQ241 from Singapore to Sydney will now have a total travel time of less than 22 hours.

Air Canada brings forward BNE launch 

Air Canada’s new direct flights between Brisbane and Vancouver will debut two weeks ahead of schedule. The service will run three times per week on a B787-7 aircraft and launch on 1 June 2106.

New SkyTeam Hong Kong lounge

SkyTeam has opened a new lounge at Hong Kong International Airport. The 1000sqm lounge seats up to 230 passengers and features a noodle bar and yoga room. The lounge is available to first and business class travellers and eligible loyalty program members from all partner airlines.

Residence debut for UAE

Marriott International will debut its Residence Inn brand in the UAE in 2019. The new build Residence Inn by Marriott Al Jaddaf will be located in Western Dubai and feature 135 units.

New Qantas business class menus 

Qantas has introduced new seasonal menus on its domestic business class services. New additions include Rockpool-inspired dishes such as huevos rancheros and Jianx Xi-style fish of the day. Botanica cold press juices will also be served on east-west breakfast services. 

Accor New Delhi

AccorHotels has opened a new combined Pullman and Novotel property in the New Delhi Aerocity development. The 270-room Pullman features three dining options, a spa, health club and swimming pool. The 400-room Novotel offers a new restaurant and bar.
