Distinction Hotels further expansion

Distinction Hotels are continuing to grow within New Zealand with the acquisition of Millennium Christchurch which will be rebranded to Distinction Christchurch. The hotel will open in 2017 with a date TBC.

Air New Zealand daily to Houston

Air New Zealand is pleased to announce daily services on the Auckland-Houston route for the peak season from December 2016 to February 2017. Flights during this time will depart Auckland daily on NZ28 at 19:20, arriving into Houston at 13:40 local time, and depart Houston daily on NZ29 at 19:50, arriving into Auckland at 5:55 (+2).

Accor latest addition to exclusive Flight Centre Corporate SmartSTAY program

Confirmed today, Accor has joined Flight Centre Corporate’s exclusive SmartSTAY program. A whopping 40 new properties are participating globally, with further additions in the pipeline. Accor’s participating destinations include a selection throughout Australia, China, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Seoul, Manila, Vietnam, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Rio De Janeiro, Buenos Aires, the USA, Toronto, Dubai, Paris and India.

Taxi fares to Auckland Airport set to drop

From next month, June, taxi fares from Auckland Airport are set to drop as new rules for taxi operators come into place. The introduction of standardised fees for all taxi operators aims to create a more level playing field for drivers which should lead to cheaper fees for customers.

United Airlines launch new route

On 1 June, United Airlines are set to launch the only nonstop service from San Francisco to Singapore. The flight will be the longest scheduled 787 flight operated by any airline.
