EK Lounge access

Emirates is extending its pay-per-visit lounge access policy to 25 of its lounges outside of Dubai, including Auckland. 

Guests must be travelling on EK, and accompanying eligible business class and first class customers including Gold and Platinum Skywards members, can access the lounges for a USD100 fee. Payments can be made direct at the lounge check-in counters. 

 

Virgin Australia to Launch Melbourne - Los Angeles Services

Virgin Australia announce that commencing 4 April 2017, Virgin Australia will introduce five services each week between Melbourne and Los Angeles using Boeing 777-300ER aircraft*, enabling Virgin Australia to service Los Angeles from the three biggest gateways in Australia - Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

 

What's in a name? 

TFE Hotels have had officially re-named a selection of their Australian properties. In an effort to increase clarity and consistency, most official hotel names now contain the city they are located in, followed by the metro area so when guests are booking they can be 100% confident they're booking their intended property.

The properties with the most significant changes are:   

  • Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney, Town Hall (formerly Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney);
  • Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney, Surry Hills (formerly Adina Apartment Hotel Crown Street);
  • Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney, Darling Harbour (formerly Adina Apartment Hotel Harbourside);
  • Travelodge Resort Darwin (formerly Travelodge Mirambeena Resort Darwin); and
  • Travelodge Sydney, Martin Place (formerly Travelodge Phillip Street).

Wanganui Avis Budget depot to close

With the changes in market recently for Wanganui, primarily driven by the reduction in air connections, Avis Budget Group will cease to operate their Wanganui depot as of 31st March 2017. 

There will be no effect on existing bookings from and returning to Wanganui up to and including 31st March 2017.

All services provided out of Wanganui will now be supported from their Palmerston North airport location, who are more than happy to assist where needed. Please note, for any hires collected in advance from Wanganui that require a return date past the 31st March closure date will need to be returned to Palmerston North airport.
