Europcar expands Australian network

Europcar has added new depots to its Australian network. Customers can now access  Europcar rentals in Epping and Knox in Victoria, Lismore Airport in New South Wales and Bunbury in Western Australia.

New Ibis Styles for New Zealand 

AccorHotels is expanding its ibis Styles portfolio in New Zealand with the Invercargill Apartment Hotel rebranding as the ibis Styles Invercargill in October. The property offers a studio, one, two and three bedroom apartments, kitchen facilities, fitness centre, in-house cinema, games room, complimentary wi-fi and guest parking.

New Emirates codeshare 

Emirates has entered into a new codeshare agreement with Bangkok Airways. The new deal adds 14 destinations to the carrier’s global network including Koh Samui and Chiang Mai in Thailand, Siem Reap in Cambodia and Yangon and Mandalay in Myanmar.

Dining revamp at Sydney T2

The first stage of Sydney Airport’s Terminal 2 casual dining revamp is underway. The terminal will have a reduced food and beverage offering during the works with temporary food and drink kiosks in operation. Upon completion the terminal will feature a new Mad Mex, SumoSalad Green Label, Chur Burger, Roll’d, Hokka Hokka, Red Rooster and Sahara Grill.

Virgin Australia’s new domestic business

Virgin Australia has launched its new A330 business class suite. The suites, dubbed ‘The Business’, offer spacious 80-inch long and 28-inch wide lie-flat seats, 16-inch HD touchscreen, restaurant style meal service and Nespresso coffees. The new suites will be available across the entire A330 fleet by the end of October. New long-haul Business Class suites, a revamped Business Class bar and a new Premium Economy cabin will be rolled out across the carrier’s B777 fleet from November.

New luggage transfer service at London Gatwick 

A new luggage service is now available for London Gatwick Airport. AirPortr is an on demand luggage service enabling passengers to travel bag free to and from the airport with baggage collected and delivered by a team of concierges and drivers. The service can be booked in advance or on the day of travel and costs approximately AU$64 for two bags to or from central London.

New Choice NT property

Choice Hotels has added Quality Advance Apartments Darwin to its portfolio. The hotel offers 91 serviced apartments featuring kitchen facilities and separate living and dining areas. The property also features conference facilities, pool, undercover parking and complimentary in-house wi-fi. The property is scheduled to open on 12 August. 

QantasLink rebrands aircraft

QantasLink is rebranding its fleet of FIFO aircraft operated by subsidiary Network Aviation. The first aircraft has already been repainted with the QantasLink Flying Kangaroo livery. The remaining Fokker F100s are set to be repainted in coming months. Network Aviation will also begin flying scheduled services in WA for QantasLink.
