Dubai adds airport tax

Dubai airport is adding a new airport tax from 1 July 2016. The A$28 Passenger Facilities Tax will apply to all carriers operating via DXB.

New Cathay Pacific amenities kits

Cathay Pacific has unveiled new Business Class amenity kits. The new kits were designed in partnership with bag manufacturer Seventy Eight Percent and contain Jurlique-branded lip balm, day and hand cream, socks, eyeshade, toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash.

Air Canada expands in-flight wi-fi

Air Canada is expanding its in-flight wi-fi service on international routes. The wi-fi implementation will come into effect later this year when the carrier begins installing the technology on its wide body fleet. Air Canada currently offers in-flight wi-fi on narrow body aircraft in North America.

Sleep well with Westin's new menu

Westin Hotels and Resorts has launched a new in room menu designed to help guests adjust to a new time zone and recover from travels. The Westin Sleep Well Menu is packed with amino acids, vitamins and minerals and is available 24-hours a day at more than 200 hotels and resorts worldwide.

Hotel Jen for KL

Shangri-la Hotels and Resorts has announced plans for its first Hotel Jen branded property in Kuala Lumpur. The 200 room Hotel Jen Kuala Lumpur will be located close to the CBD and Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). The hotel is scheduled to open in 2019 and will feature an all day dining restaurant and a rooftop bar.

New Hilton for Bali

Hilton has opened its first Hilton Garden Inn property in Indonesia. The 291 room Hilton Garden Inn Ngurah Rai Airport is located 500 metres from Bali’s international airport and features a restaurant, fitness centre, business centre and around 1,000sqm of meeting spaces.

United expands USA network  

United Airlines is expanding its domestic network in the USA. New services to Bangor, Flint, Lexington, Fort Wayne, Chattanooga, Omaha and Salt Lake City are scheduled to begin operation this year.
